'An Overwhelming Cultural Experience'Kenya's vast plains, white
beaches and wildlife open up to you in a new travel experience, Meet The
Kenyans. The experience is in a two-week programme; During the first week, you will go on an exciting safari visiting Kenya's famous parks such as the Maasai Mara and the Lake Nakuru National parks. Here you shall experience the undisputed glory of the Kenyan wild; the pink coloured lake Nakuru with a great Rhino population and the plains of the Mara with the 'Big Five'. The fantastic sunsets will fill your mind with memories to last a lifetime At the same time, in the calm of the evenings, this week is designed to make the participants a team and also prepared you for the cultural differences that you will encounter when in the community you will be staying with. It is going to be a chance to ask question and get to know more about the specific tribal ways, customs and traditions of the community. The second week is the core week of the programme. During this week, all your expectations on the community that you shall be staying with will become reality and all that the first week will have taught you put to test. We begin the week with a welcome ceremony overseen by the village elders and administration leaders of the Ndalu community. This is mainly Luhya community so most traditions are in the Luhya ways. After the ceremony you shall meet your host families and from then on meet as a group only when at work on the school or during touring the local attractions of the area. The main activity in this week begins the next day when we start work on the school. The school, Ndalu Primary School, is in great need of assistance. With very few classes that are all not fit for learning, poor sanitary conditions and other many needs, the school and its community depend on people like you to help create a change. The government has recently put up a closing order on the school if certain requirements are not meet and it is our hope that we accomplish this and ensures that the school remains open for the needy, close to 3,000, students there. This means that this week will be very busy and tiring as we work hard to accomplish this vision. The schools hopes relay on your hand, take the challenge and lets get together to create a better future for this communities children. The final and third week, though optional, is a must do for any participant. This will be a week of unwinding and relaxing as the team gets some steam off from the gruelling past week. It begins with a train ride through the Tsavo national park famous for the man-eating lions and ends up in Mapenzi Luxury Resort on the paradise beaches of Malindi. Here you have the chance to bask on the white and pristine beaches of the Kenyan coast, busking in the tropical sun and enjoying the coastal cuisine. It will definatly be the perfect farewell gift to your body and soul as you leave the country
