Itinerary Week Two

Day 8 & 9
After an early breakfast with your host family, assemble at 0830 hrs at the primary school to begin the project. At noon lunch is ready for all the workers at the school. After a one-hour break, continue till 1600 hrs. Spend the afternoon at leisure; get to know more on the village and the lifestyle. Dinner and overnight will be with your host family.

Day 10:
As usual the morning program will involve continuing on the project. Before lunch the team will be put to test on their bargain power. All will be expected to go to the local bull-market from where they will purchase a bull. From this day to the last you are to organise on how to take care of the purchased bull.

After the market experience lunch will be served before departing for the Mt. Elgon area. We arrive, in the mid afternoon, at Delta Crescent Camp. This is a game sanctuary situated right next to the Mt. Elgon Park. We will have an evening game drive that will allow you to have direct contact with the Rhino, Eland amidst other of the areas wildlife. Horse riding will be an optional way to spend the evening.

Dinner and overnight will be in the camp and as we gather round the campfire we all engage in discussion on your perspectives on village life.

Day 11:
After breakfast we head back to the village, where we will spend the morning at a local orphanage. Lunch will be at the school grounds, as we continue with the project. The evening is spent at leisure before returning to your 'homes'.

Day 12:
The project is almost coming to an end; all the manpower and resources will be used to make sure the project is finished by the end of the day. Depending on the energy left in you and the necessity to accomplish, we will continue working through the evening with dinner at the school grounds.

Day 13:
The morning will be spent with the school community after which a handing over ceremony will be conducted before having lunch.
After lunch we engage in a bush trek as we walk to the greatest river in this location, the Nzoia. Swimming and sunbathing will be at leisure as we set up camp by the riverside.

As dusk is falling the fires will be lit to begin the celebrations in the typical Luhya style. Barbeque and drinks will be flowing as the hosting families and you celebrate the friendship that was created this week. After a surprise (or two) the evening will come to an end as we turn to our tents.

Day 14: Return to Nairobi
After breakfast we will be boarding the safari vans to head back to Nairobi. Of course we stop for a real Kenyan picnic break. Arrival in Nairobi in the late afternoon.
